Safeguard Self Storage, Inc.

Safeguard is a nationwide self-storage operator based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Stewart Capital partnered with Safeguard to create a capital fund to acquire and develop $100 million in self-storage properties in select locations across the country. Since our investment, Safeguard has developed and acquired properties in Chicago, suburban New York City, Tampa, Miami, Houston and New Orleans, among other cities. Stewart Capital later assisted Safeguard in bringing in additional equity and debt sponsorship to further the Company’s growth opportunities.
PetroCom, LLC

PetroCom is a leading provider of wireless telecommunications and data services in the Gulf of Mexico, serving a wide range of business customers through a combination of cellular and satellite technologies.  In 2004, PetroCom launched the only digital cellular network in the Gulf of Mexico.  The network is based on the international Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) standard and built on a flexible, highly scalable architecture. PetroCom also offers a suite of satellite communication services—both fixed and mobile—for users whose needs take them beyond the range of cellular communication.
NewSouth Communications, Inc.

Seeing the potential to become the dominant communications provider in the southern United States, Stewart Capital merged its competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) UniversalCom with NewSouth Communications in July 2000. NewSouth was backed by KKR and other highly respected investors and is one of the top broadband integrated communications providers in the south. NewSouth has since merged with NuVox Communications and is one of the largest integrated communications providers in the nation.
